Grading Policy_bring back for grade_homework

Hall Passes
   Bathroom
Anywhere else.......During this class, if you need to go to another teacher, to guidance, or any other location for school work, you need to bring a note from the person who will be supervising you requesting permission for you to leave class. Give this to me at the beginning of class. I will not call another teacher for you.

SSA and Tardies
For tardies, 3 times, then referral

SSA_follow the guidelines or referral....sorry

Phones should be used for classwork only. If your phone is visible, you should be able to explain how you are using it for class work.

Electronic Devices
When I am giving instructions or speaking to the entire class, all electronic devices should be put away. That means invisible. If I see one, I will ask you for it. I will probably give it back to you at the end of class.

If you do not give it to me, I will call for a campus supervisor and have you escorted to an assistant principal.

If I can hear sound coming from your computer or any other electronic device, it is too loud.

If you have trouble with your computer or Photoshop, be sure we fix that at the beginning of class. If you wait until I come to check work that is too late.

Tardies follow school policies_bring note from teacher or administrator if you have a reason for being late. 10 minutes late is a cutting class referral.

Food & drink
No food near computers. Beverages must be in closed containers.

Food and drink permitted as long as room is clean. If not clean, a moratorium on food and drink.

Visitors
Visitors are not permitted in my classes without a written note from a principal. Visitors will be removed by campus supervisors.

how photography and cameras work

This part of a camera is called......
1. Shutter
2. Aperture
3. f-stop

A DSLR or Digital Single Lens Reflex camera

To focus correctly using auto focus, compose your photo by looking through the viewfinder.

While holding your camera on the most important part of the photo, press the shutter button half way down. When the camera is focused, you will see a red  dot or rectangle and hear a beep.

To take the photo, press the shutter button all the way down.

An SD Card (Secure Digital Card) is an ultra small flash memory card designed to provide high-capacity memory in a small size. SD cards are used in many small portable devices such as digital video camcorders, digital cameras, handheld computers, audio players and mobile phones.

Watch together

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ED-KnFL_J7Y

1. What was added to a camera obscura to project a sharply focused image?

2. How is the iris of the human eye similar to the opening (aperture) of a camera lens? The iris is smaller when there is ____________of light, and larger in _______________ light.

3. A shutter is the part of a camera that controls the length of _____________ that light is allowed to enter the camera

4. A viewfinder is the part of a camera that allows the photographer to view the ________________ that will be captured when the photo is taken.

5. Correct exposure is an image that is not too dark and not too light. This is achieved by letting the right amount of light (controlled by ___________________________) collect on the sensor or film for the right length of _________________, which is controlled by the how __________shutter is open.

ISO setting: In digital photography ISO measures the sensitivity of the image sensor; the lower the number the less sensitive your camera is to light. If your light source is bright, such a a sunny day, you can use a lower ISO than if your light source is low, such as a dimly lit restaurant.

Which exposure is correct?
