This is an individual assignment

This week: White on White

Homework:
1. A family portrait or a photo of a pet
2. A photo of one thing you did over break

The assignment:

1. Use magazine photos, markers, colored pencils, etc., to create a mask that reflects your personality
2. Get a portrait made, holding the mask in front of your face.

Notes: Daily grade for each step. Final grade counts 5 times.

3. Load the photo onto your computer

4. Open the photo in Photoshop
5. Convert the photo to black and white 
6. Apply Photoshop adjustments

1. What three photographic terms describe “The Exposure Triangle”? aperture, shutter speed and ISO

2. What is the definition of exposure? Exposure refers to the amount of light that enters the camera and hits the digital sensor. 

3. Exposure is a measure of how dark or bright a photograph is.

4. The aperture refers to the size of the opening in the lens through which the light enters the camera


5. What is depth of field? The distance between the nearest and the furthest objects that give an image judged to be in focus in a camera.

6. A large aperture, such as f/2 results in a photo with _shallow_depth of field.

7. A small or narrow aperture such as f/11 results in _deep_depth of field.

8. What is shutter speed? The length of time the opening in the lens remains open to let light into the camera and onto the sensor. 

9. Why would you choose a fast shutter speed like 1/500 of  a second?
